Mexico v USA - FIFA World Cup Qualifier

With such class in Manchester united, many players have come and gone over the years and have led very successful carriers with other teams. In this article we look back over the years and see where such stars as David Beckham, Louis Saha and Phil Neville carriers took them after their time at the Old Trafford.

Our first ex red is Tim Howard ex reds number one. Howard spent four years at Old Trafford appearing seventy seven times before he fell behind Edwin Van Der Sar in the pecking order. After the arrival of Van Der Sar, Howard was loaned out to Everton in the 2006-7 season and later signed for the club at the end of the same season.

Our second ex red is Phil Neville also joined Everton. Neville, who joined united in 1990, grew up in the united academy with brother Gary. In his first professional season, Neville failed to break into the first team unlike Gary and wasn’t the first choice left back until the early 2000s due to the consistency of the much older Denis Irwin. Although Neville helped the red devils to six premier league titles, in the summer of 2005 he joined Everton who he later went on to captain.

Our third ex red who joined Everton is French international Louis Saha. Saha, who spend five successful seasons at united, scored forty two goals for Ferguson’s side. Saha joined united from fulham for a fee of 12.8 million in January of 2004 and appeared eighty six times for the red devils. In 2008 after various fitness problems Saha left Old Trafford to join the toffees on a two year pay as you play deal. Since his move to Goodison Park, Saha has featured thirty two times and scored twelve goals for the club.

Our next ex red is Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy who signed a five year deal with the reds in 2001.While at Old Trafford, Nistelrooy appeared 150 times and scored 95 goals for Ferguson’s men.  After five years of loyal service at united, Nistelrooy admitted he wanted to leave united and two weeks later Real Madrid announced that they had sign Nistelrooy on a 3 year deal for a suspected €24 million.

The Final ex red is David Beckham. Beckham, who appeared two hundred and sixty five times for united, scored sixty two times. After spending ten years at united, Beckham decided to leave united and as had Van Nistelrooy did he went to Real Madrid for a suspected initial bid of £25million. After four years at Madrid, Beckham decided to leave and he went to Major league soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy.
