Have you heard the latest joke? Well, it goes like this…

Philippe Mexes, player of No-Totti FC (a.k.a Roma), was reported on Corriere dello Sport, saying the following:
“Manchester is afraid of us. I’ve been told this by my friend Evra.”

The 25-year old French defender is known for giving stupid comments ahead of crucial matches for his side. Before last season’s dumping of Roma by the Red Devils, he said that he wanted to show everyone that he made the best decision to join Roma instead of Manchester United when he left …

Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has stated his wish to negotiate a longer contract at the English club. Rio still has two years left on his current contract, but he would like to end his playing career at the Red Devils. Man Utd are willing to sit around a table and discuss with the 1.92m defender, but it is currently finding it difficult, due to the importance of the games left in this season. Ferdinand has been at Man Utd since 2002 when he joined for £18 million from Leeds …

Arsenal player Gilberto Silva was full of praise for Manchester United’s Brazilian wonderkid Anderson. In an interview with The Observer, Silva said that Anderson can achieve great things at Man Utd.

“If Anderson stays where he is, he can be fantastic. He makes the difference because he can score goals and come back to mark. He has a good technique and so much pace in his game. It’s not that easy for a Brazilian to adapt to English football in the first season, but he’s done it already – and in …

Roma skipper Francesco Totti is a major doubt for the Champions League quarter-final match to be played on Tuesday against the Red Devils. Thumb-sucker Totti injured his thigh during the Serie A match against Cagliari on Saturday, which ended in a draw of 1-1. The Roma website said that the situation will be analysed in then next few days to have a clear view of Francesco’s condition. It seems that the Italian comedian will require some massage treatments from his Ilary Blasi to be able to play against the Red …

I’m writing this article in the halftime of the Bolton vs Arsenal match. I would like to congratulate Bolton Wanderers for the courage and ability they are showing in the game until now. Bolton are leading by 2 goals to nil against the Gunners (which are with just 10 men on the field), meaning that one of the three chasing teams for the Premiership crown is definitely out of the race. As Ferguson said earlier, Arsenal will be out of the title race, as they have to face Liverpool three …

Man Utd may be alerted by the availability of Portuguese full-back Jose Bosingwa next summer. Ferguson prefers to add to his squad during the summer months rather than in the January transfer window. The players he bought in the 50+ million shopping spree of last summer have settled in perfectly. The department that may need strengthening this summer, as has been reported for over a year, is the defending department, especially a long-term right-back successor to skipper Gary Neville.

Jose Bosingwa currently plays for Portuguese giants Porto and can play as …

In an interview, Manchester United defender John O’Shea stated that the Manchester United squad was given special guidelines by manager Sir Alex Ferguson on how to respect referees. John said that the Man Utd players won’t be having the same problems and criticism that players from Chelsea (Ashley Cole) and Liverpool (Mascherano) are currently facing. O’Shea said that Ferguson indicated to the players to respect the match officials, as they do a difficult job, which will only be made more difficult with persistent protestations from players.

“The manager has told …

Sir Alex Ferguson denied reports stating that Carlos Queiroz is set to join Portuguese club Benfica next summer. Fergie has assured all Man Utd fans that his right-hand man will stay at Manchester United for the foreseeable future. This is the second time that Queiroz is an assistant at Man Utd, having gone for a brief spell at Spanish giants Real Madrid. The Portuguese assistant has numerous contacts with other clubs, especially in his home-country Portugal.

He was the person responsible for Man Utd’s co-operation agreement with Sporting Lisbon, the …

Sir Alex Ferguson was full of praise for the talent of Wayne Rooney, and told him not to get too worried about his recent lack of goals. This is not the first time that the England striker has had a run of games without scoring a single goal. However, he has proven that once he eventually finds goalscoring form, he cannot stop scoring goals.

The Aston Villa game on Saturday evening will be Rooney’s sixth game in which he failed to net a goal. Although Fergie would like Rooney to …
